Loan regulations at Stavanger library
Before using the library and lending material, please read our loan regulations.
These regulations were decided by the board of Sølvberget KF on may 13th 2003. Remember that rules and fines may be different in another library.
- Borrowing is free for everyone. You can borrow as many books as you like, but for other items there may be restrictions.
- To borrow any items you need to be in possession of a library card. Users younger than 15 years old need a parent’s signature and anyone older than 15 must provide valid id. to get a library card. The library card is personal and must be shown at every loan. The library card may be used in all departments and branches of Stavanger Library. A new library card can be issued in exchange of a fee.
- Loss or theft of the library card must be reported to the library immediately.
- Institutions may get a library card by appointment for items for non-commercial activity. The institution must state the name of a person in charge. Loss and damage must be replaced according to the same rules as for private users.
- As a rule the loan period is four weeks - see your loan receipt. If the item has not been reserved by others your loan may be renewed up to three times. For special collections specific rules apply.
-
Liability
The borrower is liable for everything that is registered on his/her account and any lost or damaged items must be replaced. The library member may be held liable for any loss that the library is subject to due to somebody else misusing their card.
