Fines and reminders

If you return books or other items late you will have to pay a fine. The fine is registered automatically on your account.

You will be fined whether a reminder was sent or not. The fine is not a payment for the reminder that was sent, but a charge that you need to pay for items that were returned late. If you have outstanding fines exceeding NOK 350,- you need to pay before you can continue borrowing.

You will only receive one reminder after the loan has expired, before receiving a bill for items that you have not yet returned. If you return the items that you borrowed after receiving the bill, you will not have to pay for the items, but a charge of NOK 150,- will still apply.

Loan period and renewals

The loan period varies according to the type of item. The receipt contains information about all borrowed items and when they are due back.

Borrowers with an e-mail adress will receive a reminder 3 days befor due date. It is also possible to receive the reminers by SMS (NOK 1 per notice) Apply for renewal by replying theese notices

Most loaned items may be renewed up to three times provided that they have not been reserved by another user. To avoid fines you should renew items before their return date.
