Welcome to Sølvberget, Stavanger kulturhus, Stavanger's cultural centre, where knowledge, experience and understanding merge.
Sølvberget, Stavanger kulturhus was established in 1987, and has ever since then been a key institution in Stavanger's cultural life. Sølvberget is situated in the middle of the city centre, and has more than 1,7 million visitors a year.
Sølvberget, Stavanger kulturhus contains a wide range of cultural activities. The main contributors are Stavanger public library, one of the largest public libraries in Norway, and SF Kino, Stavanger's movie theatre.
Festival
Sølvberget, Stavanger kulturhus and Stavanger public library, are known outside the country borders and assist in arranging the literature festival Kapittel, Stavanger international festival for literature and freedom of speech.
Other activities in Sølvberget, Stavanger kulturhus
Regular music arrangements, plays, artistic installations and exhibitions all take place in Sølvberget. Sølvberget also collaborates with many other associations and organizations in Stavanger by offering the stage and display facilities for their use. This gives them the opportunity to show their activities and thereby demonstrate the variety of cultural and organizational activities in the city.

The Information
is on the ground floor,outside the music and film library. The Information provides a wide range of local, national and international newspapers to the public in addition to information on Sølvberget and its' activites and offers.

Stavanger music and film library
is also located on the center's ground floor, and provides a wide collection of compact discs, LP records, DVD and Blue-Ray discs, music and film literature and music notes.

in the basement, is a museum dedicated to children and childhood in Norway and the rest of the world.

Sølvberget Gallery
on the first floor, is an exhibition hall (approximately 700 square metres) for larger exhibitions, festival arrangements and fairs.

is divided into two sections, culture/fiction and fact, located on the first (opposite the gallery) and second floor (opposite Stavanger children's library).
